FlexUtil

Terms of Service

Last updated

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FlexUtil website at flexutil.com, including the calculators, converters, and content pages ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

FlexUtil provides a collection of browser-based utility tools and related educational content. The Service is offered free of charge and is supported by display advertising. No account registration is required; the Service does not store user-generated content on its servers (see the Privacy Policy).

2. Licence and permitted use

FlexUtil grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal or professional purposes, subject to these Terms. You may:

  • Use the calculators and tools for their intended purpose.
  • Share links to FlexUtil pages.
  • Quote short excerpts of the editorial content with attribution.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute the Service's source code, editorial content, or calculator output in a way that is likely to be confused with the original, without written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract proprietary logic beyond what is visible in the shipped client-side code.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access in a way that materially burdens the infrastructure. Reasonable indexing by search-engine robots is welcome.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws, interferes with other users, or attempts to bypass security measures.
  • Remove, obscure, or interfere with advertising or site branding.

3. Accuracy disclaimer

The tools and editorial content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While reasonable efforts are made to keep formulas correct and tax rates current, the Service may contain errors, omissions, or stale information. Rules change frequently, especially in taxation.

You are responsible for verifying any figure produced by the Service before acting on it. This applies with particular force to financial, tax, and medical calculations:

  • Financial tools (loan calculators, mortgage buyout, compound interest) are educational estimates. They do not account for origination fees, prepayment penalties, specific bank conventions, or changes in market rates. Always confirm with your bank or a qualified financial advisor before making a borrowing, investing, or refinancing decision.
  • Tax tools (Estonian salary calculator, VAT calculator, Estonian car tax) apply the rules current as of the page's "Last updated" date. Individual circumstances (residency status, special allowances, optional pension contributions, exemptions) can change the result. Consult the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (EMTA) or a qualified accountant before filing or paying.
  • Health tools (BMI calculator) are screening utilities, not diagnostic tools. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for health decisions.
  • Development tools (JSON, Base64, UUID, regex, password) produce output that reflects current specifications at the time of development. If you are integrating into a security-sensitive system, cross-check against the relevant RFC and your own test vectors.

4. No professional advice

Nothing on FlexUtil constitutes financial, tax, legal, medical, or other professional advice. The Service is not a substitute for a relationship with a qualified professional. Do not rely on the Service alone for material decisions.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall FlexUtil, its operator, contributors, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data, business interruption, missed tax payments, over- or under-paid taxes, miscalculated mortgage costs, or any other form of financial loss arising from use of or inability to use the Service, even if the operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where such liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free service, is zero) and (b) the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.

6. Advertising

The Service is supported by display advertising served via Google AdSense. Ads may be contextual or, subject to your consent, personalised. Ad placement is automated; FlexUtil does not endorse or vouch for the products or services advertised. Please exercise your own due diligence before interacting with advertisers.

7. User-submitted content

The Service does not currently host user-generated content. Any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions you send (via email or otherwise) may be used to improve the Service without compensation, and you grant FlexUtil a perpetual, royalty-free licence to do so. Your submission will not be published verbatim without your permission.

8. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services that are not owned or operated by FlexUtil. FlexUtil has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or practices of any third-party site. Use of such sites is at your own risk.

9. Intellectual property

The editorial content, source code, design, branding, and compilation of the Service are the property of FlexUtil and its operator, and are protected by copyright and related rights under Estonian and international law. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced on the Service are the property of their respective owners.

10. Changes to the Service and Terms

FlexUtil may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time without notice. These Terms may also be updated from time to time; substantive changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 14 days after the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The exclusive venue for any claim that cannot be resolved informally is the Estonian courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your habitual residence.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect; the unenforceable provision shall be interpreted to achieve its intent to the extent possible under applicable law.

13. Contact
